The First One Everrrr

Hello all you Bloggers and Readers out there!

This is something I have wanted to do for a long time now...start a blog about our marriage, life, family, jobs, ministry, and just our everyday walks with the LORD!!! I have been putting it off and putting it off, but I am ready to begin. I know I will probably miss months and weeks at a time, but I always strive to remember the wonders of the Lord (Psalms 77:11). I think an awesome place to do that is in a blog or a journal. I want us all to remember what God has done for us and what he does through us and others. What better way to share?!? So.....HERE GOES NOTHING! :)

At this point in our lives, we have been married for 9 months and 2 days! Seth works full time as a Radiation Inspector at Savannah River Remediation and serves as the Youth Pastor at Carry the Cross Youth Ministries , which is located at our home church, Cornerstone Community Church.  I teach 5th grade at Mossy Creek Elementary. I also teach the Elementary Sunday School class at church and help Seth with the youth. We have a passion to see young people come into the Kingdom of God. We are very excited to see what God has in store for us.

We do have a couple of hurdles that we must cross, but everyone has something on their plate. One of ours is that Seth has Cystic Fibrosis  and we have a few others that we will share later in our blogs. However, Seth is very healthy despite his CF. He has a very high lung function and he takes his medicine diligently. As of right now, Seth is perfectly fine (in my opinion). The mucus in his lungs makes it very hard for him to breathe at times, but he does his breathing treatments (for the most parts)! This breaks up the mucus off of his lungs and makes it easier for him breathe. Doctors are working hard to helping him BREATHE EASY. :) We will focus more on this issue in the month of May for Cystic Fibrosis Awareness month. I just thought I would share for anyone who did not already know. Don't be alarmed or upset by this. Seth is gaining strength everyday and is doing wonderful! :) We know God is healing him day by day.

I am in my first year of teaching. It is a challenge for sure. I work with some pretty awesome people and have the best mentor teacher ever. I am extremely blessed. My students are pretty cool and are hard-workers. I do have my fair share of bad days and it's not even half way through the first 3 months. However, I know that God is doing things through me there and teaching me things through my students. I am beyond blessed with an amazing job doing what I love. :) (****Please notice I am not trying to make my life seem perfect or give a huge pity party, but I am trying to emphasize I know the goodness of God and we know that  He is bigger than a bad day****)

We are in our 3rd year of our ministry together. :) It has been a blast, but we have seen some devestating issues as well. We have sat in church with 30 students, and then we have sat in church with 1. Seth and I are still learning every day and each week. We understand that life is hard and that our students are dealing with every day issues just like we are. Seth does his very best to put his whole heart into our ministry, but we are humans and we do fail. The times that we do fail is when the enemy seems to just try his hardest to hurt us and rub it in our faces. When we see our youth disappear for a couple of weeks or if we see a student lose a loved one, or see one of our kids make a super bad choice, our hearts truly ache, because we love them like they were our own family! (****because they are :) ) We want the best for them! We want our students to leave us with changed hearts and to be Kingdom Builders, as they go on into their own separate lives. Seth and I can't wait to share more on our ministry in blogs to come! :) (***Check out our Facebook page)

Our families are pretty awesome, but we have a lot of situations going on on both sides of our family. We love them times a million, but we do have a very dynamic family life. As time goes on and the healing process begins we will share more about our families, but for now I will share that we have a lot of issues for God to work on. I don't say that lightly or in a joking way; we know God can heal and mend the broken.
